  Announcing New Location

We have recently moved to a new location at 3670 West Shore Road Suite 4 Warwick, RI 02886. The new location is centrally located and a 30 minute drive from any given point in the state. The space features a private conference room and close to 1,000 square feet.

Both Joe and Ann have vast experience as title examiners for numerous regional law offices.   Service in Connecticut

I recently received the results from the July 2004 Connecticut bar examination and am pleased to announce that I passed! On November 1st I will be sworn in as a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.

  State Law Change

LAW CHANGES

Massachusetts

Homestead Exception Increased
The Homestead Exemption has been raised from $300,000 to $500,000. The new law is written to provide the higher homestead protection to existing homestead declarations, with exception for circumstances where a lien has been placed subsequent to the homestead and prior to passage of the new law.

Rhode Island

Mortgage Payoff Law Amended
Rhode Island recently amended two laws affecting our industry. Effective November 1, 2004, in most instances, a Lender will have three business days to provide a payoff statement to the borrower. The borrower may make the payoff request in writing or by fax.

Homestead Exception Increased
The Homestead Exception in Rhode Island has been raised from $150,000 to $200,000
